While working on connecting to Teleform tables, I've had some very strange and inconsistent behavior with Opal today. Throughout this time, I have may no system changes to cause the problem, nor to fix it. The Opal console was often showing: ERROR - ort.MethodInvokingRunnable - Invocation of method 'synchronizeIndices' on target class [class org.obiba.opal.search.IndexSynchronizationManager$$EnhancerByCGLIB$$6946bdac] failed Java.lang.NullPointerException at org.obiba.opal.search.es.EsIndexManager.getIndexMetaData(EsIndexManager.java:52) ... Liquibase.database.AbstractDatabase setConnection WARNING: Can not set auto commit to false on connection Exception in thread "Thread-6" IllegalArgumentException: null or empty entityIdentityColumns ... WARNING Cannot set auto commit to false on connection. I was able to access MySQL and Opal command-line fine even when I couldn't access Opal GUI. java would be chewing up >1G of memory. After a reboot of my pc and repeated restarting of Opal console, I was able to get in but some datasources weren't shown then they'd reappear again - I have screen shots. So frustrating:( I'm done with what I wanted to do for now, but this inconsistent behavior is a major concern. Besides the Windows Opal console messages, I can't find any other log files that contain error messages. There is for Opal on Debian and Onyx on windows, but where for Opal on windows? PS. I was able to get Opal to connect to Teleform tables that I loaded into MySQL [from Access]:) Is MYSQL the only option for creating a datasource with 'Custom SQL'? Thanks.
