Current known issues: 1) Building relationships does not work since the query is built up with all tables enumerated in the from clause. Hive does not support multiple items in the from clause. See http://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/Hive/LanguageManual/Select and http://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/Hive/LanguageManual/Joins on how to perform joins with Hive. 2) Cannot retrieve row count in database explorer (this may already be fixed) java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException: Couldn't get a result because of an error :org.pentaho.di.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException: An error occurred executing SQL: SELECT count(*) FROM invites Query returned non-zero code: 11, cause: FAILED: Parse Error: line 1:13 mismatched input '*' expecting ) in function specification at org.pentaho.di.ui.core.database.dialog.GetTableSizeProgressDialog$1.run(GetTableSizeProgressDialog.java:80) at org.eclipse.jface.operation.ModalContext$ModalContextThread.run(ModalContext.java:113) Caused by: org.pentaho.di.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException: 3) Looks like column headers are not being returned with query results Conditions of Satisfaction: - Should be able to query a model based on Hive data source in Query Editor - Should support multiple tables with relationships between them - Should be able to publish the model to the BI server and build WAQR reports against it - Should be able to build dashboards - Should provide friendly error messages when generated SQL is not supported by Hive - Shouldn't bomb if the query returns no data - Should be able to build a report in Report Designer against the Metadata model - Should be able to run a report published from Report Designer in the BI Server that goes against a Hive-based metadata model
