This was printed on AIX. If the .so isn't there it should just print an Error message not a stack trace. nice. that worked now it starts. although for 2.6 that has the sigar implementation the .so file is missing for aix. 2008-06-01 15:20:22,161 INFO - Terracotta trunk-nightly-rev8699, as of 20080601-080629 (Revision 8699 by cruise@rh4mo0 from trunk) 2008-06-01 15:20:22,763 INFO - Configuration loaded from the file at '/home/u0005369/camlet/etc/tc-config.xml'. 2008-06-01 15:20:25,552 INFO - Terracotta trunk-nightly-rev8699, as of 20080601-080629 (Revision 8699 by cruise@rh4mo0 from trunk) 2008-06-01 15:20:26,054 INFO - Configuration loaded from the file at '/home/u0005369/camlet/etc/tc-config.xml'. 2008-06-01 15:20:26,305 INFO - Log file: '/home/u0005369/camlet/bin/terracotta/client-logs/terracotta-client.log'. 2008-06-01 15:20:28,304 INFO - Statistics buffer: '/home/u0005369/camlet/bin/statistics-172.29.140.68'. 2890 [main] DEBUG Sigar - libsigar-ppc-aix-6.so (Not found in java.library.path) org.hyperic.sigar.SigarException: libsigar-ppc-aix-6.so (Not found in java.library.path) at org.hyperic.sigar.Sigar.loadLibrary(Sigar.java:160) at org.hyperic.sigar.Sigar.<clinit>(Sigar.java:90) at java.lang.J9VMInternals.initializeImpl(Native Method) at java.lang.J9VMInternals.initialize(J9VMInternals.java:194) at com.tc.statistics.retrieval.actions.SRACpu.<init>(SRACpu.java:25) at java.lang.Class.newInstanceImpl(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Class.java:1328) at com.tc.statistics.retrieval.impl.StatisticsRetrievalRegistryImpl.registerActionInstance(StatisticsRetrievalRegistryImpl.java:53) at com.tc.object.DistributedObjectClient.populateStatisticsRetrievalRegistry(DistributedObjectClient.java:216) at com.tc.object.DistributedObjectClient.start(DistributedObjectClient.java:346) at com.tc.object.bytecode.ManagerImpl$2.execute(ManagerImpl.java:179) at com.tc.lang.StartupHelper.startUp(StartupHelper.java:39) at com.tc.object.bytecode.ManagerImpl.startClient(ManagerImpl.java:195) at com.tc.object.bytecode.ManagerImpl.init(ManagerImpl.java:134) at com.tc.object.bytecode.ManagerImpl.init(ManagerImpl.java:122) at com.tc.object.bytecode.hook.impl.ClassProcessorHelper.createGlobalContext(ClassProcessorHelper.java:636) at com.tc.object.bytecode.hook.impl.ClassProcessorHelper.init(ClassProcessorHelper.java:423) at com.ibm.misc.SystemIntialization.lastChanceHook(SystemIntialization.java:137) at java.lang.System.completeInitialization(System.java:111) at java.lang.Thread.<init>(Thread.java:134) 2897 [main] INFO com.tc.statistics.StatisticRetrievalAction - "message monitor" statistic is not enabled. HP-UX is currently unsupported due to its vendor-specific JVM, but it seems to be a problem related to version/vendor information parsing. So, I've successfully patched the following sources (see attachments for diffs): - com.tc.util.runtime.VmVersion - com.tc.util.VendorVmSignature And rebuilt the whole Terracotta package. Now, Terracotta server and client properly start and work, at least by testing them through the "coordination" sample. I just get the following exception, which shouldn't affect anything other than statistics: 9224 [main] DEBUG Sigar - no libsigar-ia64-hpux-11.sl in java.library.path org.hyperic.sigar.SigarException: no libsigar-ia64-hpux-11.sl in java.library.path at org.hyperic.sigar.Sigar.loadLibrary(Sigar.java:160) at org.hyperic.sigar.Sigar.<clinit>(Sigar.java:90) at com.tc.statistics.retrieval.actions.SRACpu.<init>(SRACpu.java:25) at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.java:27) at java.lang.reflect.Constructor.newInstance(Constructor.java:494) at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Class.java:354) at java.lang.Class.newInstance(Class.java:307) at com.tc.statistics.retrieval.impl.StatisticsRetrievalRegistryImpl.registerActionInstance(StatisticsRetrievalRegistryImpl.java:53) at com.tc.object.DistributedObjectClient.populateStatisticsRetrievalRegistry(DistributedObjectClient.java:229) at com.tc.object.DistributedObjectClient.start(DistributedObjectClient.java:361) at com.tc.object.bytecode.ManagerImpl$2.execute(ManagerImpl.java:175) at com.tc.lang.StartupHelper.startUp(StartupHelper.java:39) at com.tc.object.bytecode.ManagerImpl.startClient(ManagerImpl.java:188) at com.tc.object.bytecode.ManagerImpl.init(ManagerImpl.java:130) at com.tc.object.bytecode.ManagerImpl.init(ManagerImpl.java:118) at com.tc.object.bytecode.hook.impl.ClassProcessorHelper.createGlobalContext(ClassProcessorHelper.java:634) at com.tc.object.bytecode.hook.impl.ClassProcessorHelper.init(ClassProcessorHelper.java:421) at com.tc.object.bytecode.hook.impl.ClassProcessorHelper.systemLoaderInitialized(ClassProcessorHelper.java:795) at java.lang.ClassLoader.initSystemClassLoader(ClassLoader.java:1327) at java.lang.ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader(ClassLoader.java:1286)
