Impacted Cases ============== Viewing an XWalkView while an SMS is sent from the device. Reproduce Test Steps ==================== Create a small project with an Activity and a Fragment. Put an XWalkView in the Fragment and load a url in it. While looking at the page loaded in the XWalkView in the Fragment, send an SMS using a 3rd party app that allows you to send an SMS from a webbrowser or such. (The focus must be on the app with XWalkView opened while the sms is sent for the bug to be triggered). Expected Outcome ================ An SMS is sent and the app keeps working normally. Actual Outcome ============== We get an uncaught exception and the app crashes. 10-09 15:03:03.648 27389-27389/W/dalvikvm﹕ threadid=1: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x42033a08) 10-09 15:03:03.808 27389-27389/E/[PPLCONNECT]﹕ Error receiving broadcast Intent { act=SMS_SENT flg=0x10 (has extras) } in org.xwalk.core.internal.extension.api.messaging.MessagingSmsManager$2@4290b398 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ java.lang.RuntimeException: Error receiving broadcast Intent { act=SMS_SENT flg=0x10 (has extras) } in org.xwalk.core.internal.extension.api.messaging.MessagingSmsManager$2@4290b398 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at android.app.LoadedApk$ReceiverDispatcher$Args.run(LoadedApk.java:860) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at android.os.Handler.handleCallback(Handler.java:725) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:92) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:158) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:5751) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:511) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:1083) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:850) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ Caused by: java.lang.NumberFormatException: Invalid int: "null" 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at java.lang.Integer.invalidInt(Integer.java:138) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:355) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:332) 10-09 15:03:03.813 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at java.lang.Integer.valueOf(Integer.java:490) 10-09 15:03:03.818 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at org.xwalk.core.internal.extension.api.messaging.MessagingSmsManager$2.onReceive(MessagingSmsManager.java:243) 10-09 15:03:03.818 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ at android.app.LoadedApk$ReceiverDispatcher$Args.run(LoadedApk.java:845) 10-09 15:03:03.818 27389-27389/W/System.err﹕ ... 9 more Test Case Source Code ===================== - Test Builds =========== Tried with the maven repo versions of crosswalk. 9.38.208.4 and 10.38.221.0. Also tried with versions 10.38.222.0 and 10.38.223.0 by manually adding their aar files from canary into my project. Issue Analysis ============== Seems like MessagingSmsManager doesn't like receiving a send SMS Intent while an XWalkView is shown. Is there any way to disable MessagingSmsManager receiver if I'm not using that functionality at all? Could the cause be the use of a Fragment as we cannot override onNewIntent() in a Fragment (only in an Activity). Thus I have onPause, onResume, onDestroy and onActivityResult overidden as suggested but not onNewIntent().
