Unable to find certification path to requested target even though added to local truststore

javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure I've also tried importing my certificate using keytool into keystore JKS, and also adding the certificated to my system keychain access. Using Charles Proxy, I can see I get this error when it makes the CONNECT attempt: "SSLHandshake: Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown". Attached is also the java error stack trace. It's leading me to believe that it cannot find the certificate I added. javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
